I find it interesting how well ICT can be embedded into Maths. There is a big focus at the moment on embedding. Embedding ICT, Maths and English into training programmes such as Apprenticeships and NVQs. The embedding goes further as ICT and English should be embedded into maths oh and not forgetting bringing the British values and culture into it somehow. I must admit my first thoughts were ‘oh no here we go again’ but all this embedding is making for a much more enjoyable and fun maths session. It just needs a bit of thought at the planning stage but it is really worth while. ICT is embedding it self naturally into our daily lives so we need to take the barriers down and let it into the adult education classroom. The main trick is not just replace what you normally do with software like Excel, Word and PowerPoint but to use the full power of the internet and availability of technology.
I used to work for a private training provider in Rugby. I worked for 25 years with various job roles in Milton Keynes, Northampton and finally Rugby. That company was my life for all that time but now I run a business called InIT Learning and happy to say that there is life after redundancy. 🙂 InIT Learning deliver one day computer courses in Excel, Word and PowerPoint etc. InIT Learning prices are much more competitive than other SoftwareTraining providers. I am keen to speak with large employers in the following areas: Milton Keynes, Rugby, Northampton, Oxford and Bedford (and all surrounding towns and counties) about how my company can increase efficiency and motivation of staff. Most staff are self-taught on computers and software like Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint and all delegates on my courses have enjoyed learning new and quicker ways to produce their work. GetonCourse for Success with computer courses at all levels in a day with InIT Learning. There is always something new to learn. My courses a full of useful tips.
Training and courses are a great way to keep the mind active and to develop new skills and knowledge to help with your job at work or to help you gain promotion or to change jobs or careers. Many employers encourage staff training and development as it’s a great motivator and of course it can make a positive effect on the bottom line. I deliver many courses in towns around Milton Keynes e.g. Rugby, Coventry, Oxford, Northampton, Bedford and many more and I meet many people with jobs from a variety of vocational areas and find it enjoyable and fun to work with people who are genuinely trying to learn new ways to make their job and tasks more efficient not just for themselves but for their customers, suppliers, managers and directors. The one thing common to all courses and all delegates is the support and desire of top level management to support their staff to develop and grow. Technology is the future and needs to be embraced from the top down. I can remember someone once said to me ‘David we will store all our typewriters behind the cupboards as this technology called Word Processing will not last’ years later they had to throw them away. The same person also said all you need is a diary and a pencil. Interestingly my current travels, job contracts and current contacts with staff at all levels proves there are genuine managers out there who are supportive of their staff and keen to develop them and embrace technology. I deliver courses in Excel, Word and PowerPoint and keen to speak with managers and directors who wish to develop their staff.

Self employment and running my own business has got to be one of the best choices I made. Yes self employment has its ups and downs but I would say there are many more positives if you are willing to work hard. I meet a lot of genuine people who really show their appreciation for the work I do. We all like a pat on the back that is genuine and not just to satisfy the procedures set out in company policy. The companies I have been working with all fall into my ‘genuine’ category. There are many other positives like, I can develop new ideas without them being quashed by the powers to be. I have a better work life balance and can enjoy time to suit me. Okay there are some negatives like you can’t say for sure what the next contract will be and when, waiting to be paid is sometimes tough when you are a small business, but all this can be managed once you learn how your business works and how your customer businesses work. When you know your quiet months all you need to do is plan that in. My business is based in Milton Keynes and delivers one day courses in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc. InIT Learning provide all the equipment and all the customer has to provide is the room e.g. a conference room. The maximum delegates is normally eight and all delegates receive a manual and certificate of attendance. If your business is in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire or the surrounding counties e.g. Rugby and Coventry in Warwickshire, Northampton, Kettering in Northamptonshire, Bedford, Luton in Bedfordshire, Oxford in Oxfordshire and you have staff requiring training in Excel, Word or PowerPoint then contact me at InIT Learning 0844 585 1987.
